The Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Administration (ARBDD), Tulcea, announced in a press release that it proposes conducting an impact study of tourism activities in 6 coastal areas under its administration.
The impact study is necessary for ecosystem protection, and the targeted areas are located in Sulina, Sfantu Gheorghe, and Gura Portitei, in Tulcea County, as well as in Vadu, Corbu, and Midia, located in Constanta County.
Depending on the results and conclusions of this study, the extent to which it is necessary to change the designation from wild beach to tourist beach will be determined for each individual case, without, however, considering the removal of these areas from ARBDD administration.
The resulting proposal will be submitted for analysis to the Scientific Council and the Advisory Board of Administration and will form the basis of a Government Decision to be submitted for verification and approval to the Ministry of Environment, Waters, and Forests.
According to the press release, the areas where legal seasonal beach activities can take place will not be larger than those where they have already been practiced.
