Raluca Anghel, director at the National Authority for Tourism (ANT), stated that representatives of foreign tour operators present at the FITUR International Tourism Fair, organized in Madrid, are very interested in Romania’s offerings, especially tourism products related to nature, active and adventure tourism, city breaks in major cities, Bran Castle, the Mocănița steam train, Turda Salt Mine, and the Palace of the Parliament.
She specified that more and more tourists are interested in city breaks in Sibiu, Brașov, Iași, Bucharest and, at the same time, are interested in Transylvania and everything related to the legend of Dracula.
ANT participated between January 20-24, 2016, in the 36th edition of the FITUR International Tourism Fair held in Madrid.
The current edition of FITUR sets a new participation record, with 9,500 companies from 165 countries and regions, as well as nearly 60,000 square meters of exhibition space.
At FITUR, ANT primarily promoted Transylvania and activities related to the „2016 – Year of Brancusi” project.
