In the first nine months of this year, the General Directorate of Control, Authorization, and Tourism within the National Authority for Tourism (ANT) carried out 423 control activities, resulting in 131 contraventional fines exceeding 3.5 million RON, and the withdrawal of 38 classification certificates and 5 tourism licenses, announced ANT President Anca Pavel-Nedea.
Additionally, 228 warning sanctions were applied.
The control actions targeted 518 accommodation structures, 417 public catering structures, 95 travel agencies, 5 beaches, and one ski slope.
Regarding authorization activities, in the same period, 3,167 documentations were submitted by economic operators to obtain the necessary authorizations for operating in the tourism sector.
Of the total, 1,640 were provisional operating authorizations – tourist reception structures – accommodation and public catering, 809 classification certificates – tourist reception structures – accommodation and public catering, 33 annex sheets to the classification certificate, 169 were tourism patents, as well as one certificate for mountain tourist route approval.
ANT also registered 186 certificates and badges for tour guides, 529 addresses for completing documentation – obtaining classification certificates, tourism and nautical leisure licenses, 295 certificates for tourism licenses, 398 tourism licenses, 39 certificates for classification certification, 249 specialized permits for constructions in the tourism field, etc.
“The Tourism Infrastructure Directorate manages funds intended for investments from the state budget. The panel of activities for the current year includes updating the Master Plan for the development of spa tourism, updating the national eco-tourism strategy of Romania, services for conducting the study on the arrangement of a 180 km bicycle path on the route Dubova-Bigar-Carbunari-Cheile Nerei-Beusnita-Varful Bracia-Lacul Buhui-Semenic Tourist Complex, services for drafting the statute on the sustainable development of the Carpathian Mountains, which is part of the Carpathian Convention strategy, etc.,” stated Anca Pavel-Nedea.
