AnimaWings launches Bucharest – Milan Malpensa route

AnimaWings airline, controlled by the founders of Christian Tour, is expanding its European network by launching a direct route between Bucharest and Milan Malpensa airport. The new connection, considered strategic for business and leisure traffic between Romania and northern Italy, will be operated starting May 29, 2026, with a frequency of three flights per week.

Flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, using Airbus A220-300 aircraft recently added to the operator’s fleet. The planes have a configuration of 137 seats, divided into 12 Business class seats and 125 Economy class seats. The service will be full-service, with passengers having cabin baggage, seat selection, and free check-in included in the fare, with travel options available for Business, Premium Economy, and Economy classes.

Marius Pandel, CEO and co-founder of AnimaWings, highlighted the strategic importance of the Lombardy region, recognized as a major economic hub and host to one of the largest Romanian communities in Europe. Milan Malpensa Airport representative, Aldo Schmid, added that the new service strengthens the airport’s role as the main gateway to northern Italy and boosts commercial and social ties with Romania.

Launched in 2020, AnimaWings currently operates flights to destinations such as Paris, Stockholm, Istanbul, London, Geneva, Munich, and Athens. The company’s current fleet consists of eight Airbus aircraft, of which six A220 models were delivered in the last 18 months. The operator’s development strategy plans to expand the fleet to 14 aircraft by the end of 2027.
