The National Administration of Romanian Waters (ANAR) has announced that the beaches of the Romanian coast will be cleaned, prepared, and handed over to users by mid-April, before the start of the summer season, stating that the works have been completed in a proportion of 70%.
ANAR representatives claim that so far, 89 beach subsectors have been handed over out of the total of 309 rented subsectors.
The beach preparation works, carried out by the Water Management System with machinery and personnel from the Dobrogea – Litoral Basin Water Administration, are taking place simultaneously on the following stretches: Navodari – Mamaia – Constanta, 60% completed; Agigea – Eforie – Costinesti – Tuzla, 70% completed; and 23 August – Mangalia – 2 Mai – Vama Veche, 80% completed.
Beach preparation works consist of manual and specialized machinery cleaning by collecting waste and other objects, cleaning sand deposited near protective fences and in the alley areas, rehabilitating beach surfaces eroded by sand, dismantling reed fences, leveling the beaches, and cleaning them of shells where they have accumulated.
