ANA Teleferic reopens the Tâmpa Cable Car and Panoramic Restaurant after an investment of over EUR 20 million

The ANA Teleferic Group, part of ANA Holding controlled by businessman George Copos, will reopen on October 19 the Tâmpa Cable Car and Panoramic Restaurant in Brasov, following a modernization project worth more than 20 million euro. The project aims to revitalize two of the city’s tourist and architectural landmarks, about a year after they were closed for rehabilitation work.

The total investment of more than EUR 20 million was allocated to the reconstruction of the restaurant, with a budget of more than EUR 12 million, and to the modernization of the cable car, for which EUR 8 million was allocated. As a result of the rehabilitation process, the transportation capacity of one cable car was increased to 25 persons per ride. For the modernization of the cableway installation, Ana Teleferic collaborated with the Austro-Swiss consortium Doppelmayr Garaventa, with which it has already carried out projects in Poiana Brasov, such as the Postăvarul Telegondola and the modernization of the Capra Neagră and Kanzel gondolas. Ana Teleferic finalized the acquisition of the Panoramic restaurant in December 2022, while the temporary closure of the cable car was announced by the City Hall of Brasov a year ago. According to the company, the reopening coincides with the 50th anniversary of the restaurant’s opening in 1975 and the 55th anniversary of the cable car’s commissioning.
