The Alma Health & Spa Retreat resort in the Lacu Sarat resort, near the city of Braila, was inaugurated 3 and a half years after the start of construction.
The investment amounted to EUR 20 million.
The accommodation capacity includes 185 rooms, while the event capacity is approximately 1,000 seats.
The resort includes a private beach with 1,000 sunbeds, providing access to Lacu Sarat (Salt Lake).
A night in a double room with breakfast included starts from 575 RON, with guests having access to the private beach, the children’s playground, and wellness facilities.
The airport to be built in the Galati and Braila area will be a major advantage for medical tourism. The area covered by the treatment and wellness center is 2,500 sqm. Among the facilities are 60 individual treatment rooms, a saltwater pool, and physiotherapy rooms.
The wellness area consists of an indoor freshwater pool, jacuzzi, salt rooms, saunas, Hammam, Vichy shower, and therapy and massage rooms, as well as an aquatic park with water slides.
The most significant investment was made in the Alma Grand Ballroom, which has a capacity of 400 seats, with all equipment being state-of-the-art.
Construction was accelerated during the pandemic, although one of the obstacles was the lack of labor, and other delays were due to delivery deadlines for various equipment not being met.
Currently, the resort has 100 employees from the Braila area.
The owner believes that through this project, other investors will be attracted to the area.
