AirConnect airline launches in Romania

AirConnect airline is launching in Romania. AirConnect will operate domestic flights and charter flights.

At the beginning of July, the first AirConnect aircraft arrived at Bucharest Baneasa International Airport.

The AirConnect airline appears in a context with over 7,000 cancelled flights.

The ATR 72-600 aircraft has 68 seats. Charter flights will be operated by AirConnect to Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Egypt.

Karpaten Turism, Dertour, Cocktail Holidays, and AeroVacante have signed contracts with the new airline.

In August, another ATR 72-600 will be added to the fleet, and two more aircraft will be added in 2023. Domestic flights will be launched this autumn, and regional airports include Bucharest, Oradea, Arad, Timisoara, Craiova, Targu Mures, Sibiu, and Baia Mare.

ATR 72-600 aircraft represent a fuel-efficient solution. The lightweight structure and the engine for short sectors are advantages, with operating costs being lower and CO2 emissions being reduced.
