French hotel group Accor is expanding its presence on the Romanian market by opening a Tribe hotel—a brand under which only one other hotel currently operates worldwide—and the Adagio aparthotel concept, both within a project developed by a group of investors from the automotive and real estate industries, according to real estate market sources.

The project developer, Inter-Mecanord, has already signed the agreement with the Accor chain, and construction permits are currently being prepared.
The project includes an 8-story building with two separate entrances. One for the Tribe hotel, which will have 100 rooms, and another for the Adagio aparthotel, which will also feature 100 rooms.
The complex, located near the Basarab Overpass in the Gara de Nord area of Bucharest, will also feature a swimming pool and a SPA center. The investment in the project amounts to EUR 18 million.
The opening is scheduled for 2021, with both brands being introduced to Romania for the first time.
The new hotel complex complements the Petru Rares 1259 residential ensemble, which has already completed 177 apartments and is set to include approximately 100 more apartments in a later construction phase.
The Tribe brand was launched in March 2019 with the inauguration of a hotel in Perth, Australia. Accor announced at the time that it was preparing 10 other openings by 2022 in Europe and Asia Pacific, totaling over 1,700 rooms. By 2030, the operator aims to have 150 hotels under the Tribe banner. The brand targets the mid-market segment.
In regards to Adagio, it is one of the largest aparthotel brands in the world. The brand is present in 12 countries with 110 aparthotels and a total of 12,451 rooms.
