A new hotel chain entered the Romanian market by affiliating a hotel in Mamaia

The German hotel chain Top International Hotels has entered the Romanian market after affiliating a hotel in the Mamaia resort in January of this year, which had operated under the Golden Tulip franchise for the last 8 years.
Currently, the unit has changed its name to Zenith-Top Country Line-Conference&Spa Hotel after affiliating with the German chain Top International Hotels in January. The unit is classified at 4 stars, has 230 rooms, two restaurants, a conference center, and an outdoor pool.
Peacock Hotels representatives stated that giving up the Golden Tulip franchise is a strategic decision because the property needs a more dynamic identity and a global distribution specific to its profile. A “rebranding” and market repositioning solution was chosen, considering it is the largest hotel in Mamaia open permanently and fully functional throughout the year. Thus, upon the expiration of the initial 8-year term of the franchise agreement with Golden Tulip in December 2015, the hotel’s shareholders and management opted not to renew this relationship, and since January 2016, the hotel complex joined the German chain Top International Hotels.
Top International owns two specialized distribution platforms for conference facilities, „Conference Finder”, and for spa facilities, „Spa Finder”.
Along with the change in identity and market image, a new investment was started to complete the facilities offered by the hotel, namely a Spa center with avant-garde architecture, connected to the hotel by a walkway, after the hotel inaugurated the largest conference center on the coast in 2010. The Spa center is set to open in mid-June and will include a swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and fitness room.
Founded three decades ago, Top International Hotels includes over 400 3-5 star hotels in major tourist destinations in Europe. The German chain operates over 140 hotels under its own brands Top International and Top City&CountryLine, as well as 260 units under the Wellnessfinder, Embrace Hotels, VCH-Hotels, and Falkensteiner brands.
