At the end of October, the value of holiday vouchers increased to EUR 244 million, being 8.4 times higher than last year.
In the first 10 months of the year, 23.2 million holiday vouchers were issued on paper and electronic media. According to ANAT estimates, the market potential is EUR 372 million this year alone, representing the granting of vouchers worth RON 1,450/person to the 1.2 million employees in the public system.
In October, 1.2 million vouchers were issued, both on paper and electronic media, worth EUR 14 million, double the amount compared to September.
October was also the month with the most electronic vouchers issued compared to other months of the year, namely 352,469, 4.5 times higher than the entire year 2017.
According to ANAT statistics, June remains the month with the highest value of vouchers issued in 2018, namely EUR 125 million.
In the first half of the year, the number of tourists increased by 4.1%, according to the National Institute of Statistics. Another effect of using holiday vouchers was the 10% increase in authorization requests from accommodation units this year.
