Low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced the opening of an operational base at Vienna Airport, with plans to operate 17 new routes from there in 2018.
The new routes will connect Vienna with Gdansk, Tuzla, and Varna starting in April; with Bari, Malta, Rome, Valencia, and Tel Aviv starting in June; and with Billund, Bergen, Dortmund, Kutaisi, Larnaca, Nis, Ohrid, Tenerife, and Thessaloniki starting in November, though no connection to Romania is currently provided.
By adding the Austrian capital to its constantly evolving route network, Wizz Air now connects 145 destinations across 44 countries.
