Wizz Air opens a new base in Sibiu

Low-cost airline Wizz Air has invested EUR 100 million in a new base in Sibiu and is launching four new routes from this airport to Nuremberg, Munich (Memmingen), Milan (Bergamo), and Madrid, the airline’s representatives announced.
At the same time, the air operator is increasing the number of flights to London (Luton) to five per week.
Wizz Air estimates a traffic of 20,000 – 30,000 passengers from its newly inaugurated base in Sibiu.
Additionally, the company announced the opening of a Suceava – London (Luton) route, with a frequency of four flights per week. The flights will be operated starting August 19.
Operating fares on the new routes range between 99 and 129 RON.
Wizz Air thus has 7 air bases in Romania, in Bucharest, Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Targu Mures, Sibiu (from August), and Iasi (from July), serving 9 airports and operating 114 routes to 16 countries.
