Wizz Air: Four New Flights from Cluj-Napoca Avram Iancu International Airport

Starting July 2016, the low-cost airline Wizz Air will introduce four new international flights from Cluj-Napoca to cities in Spain, Germany, Denmark, and the United Kingdom, while also expanding its fleet at the „Avram Iancu” International Airport in the city with a fifth Airbus A320 aircraft.
These new flights will have as destinations Alicante (Spain), Berlin (Germany), Billund (Denmark), and Doncaster Sheffield (United Kingdom).
In the first nine months of this year, Wizz Air traffic grew for Romanian routes by 20% compared to the same period last year.
The Director of the „Avram Iancu” International Airport in Cluj-Napoca, David Ciceo, estimates 1,400,000 passengers, with the final figure expected to be 1,480,000 passengers. In 2020, the Cluj airport could reach over 2.2 million passengers. Therefore, for us, extending the runway to 3,500 m is very important, said Ciceo.
