Wizz Air: 34% Increase in Passengers from Romania in Q1

On April 27, the low-cost airline Wizz Air celebrated 15 million passengers transported on its routes from Bucharest. The 15 millionth passenger traveled from Rome to Bucharest and received a round-trip ticket from the company to any of the airline’s destinations.
In the first quarter of this year, the company transported approximately 1.45 million passengers, an increase of 34% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the load factor across the entire Wizz network increased by more than 7.4% compared to the same period last year, from 85.4% in 2016 to 92.8% this year.
Currently, the operator offers 56 destinations in 20 countries, with a total of 134 routes on sale from 10 airports in Romania, including the newest operations from Craiova to Tel Aviv and from Bucharest to Warsaw, which will begin in June.
