Update: The Beliș-Fântânele resort in Cluj will reopen under the Hampton by Hilton brand in 2026

The Beliș-Fântânele resort was taken over by the Transilvania Trek group from UNITA Turism in March 2023. The hotel is located on the shores of the Beliș-Fântânele lake, in the Apuseni National Park area. The 6 ha Beliș-Fântane complex in Cluj county will reopen in the second half of 2026 under the Hampton by Hilton brand. The collaboration between the local company and the international brand was announced last year, when project representatives estimated 2025 as the opening date. “Given that the entire complex covers 6 ha, the renovation/renovation works are much more extensive. At the moment, we are validating the final concept of the resort, with the various functions it will be able to offer, addressing several market segments,” says Andreea Blaj, general manager at Transilvania Trek. Transilvania Trek is a hotel management company founded in 2014 in Cluj, controlled by businessman Laurențiu Russo. He founded the IT company Softvision, and in 2018 sold it to US group Cognizant. He also took over the City Plaza hotel in Cluj for €10m and rebranded it as DoubleTree by Hilton.
