Turkish Airlines will transport electronic devices in a special cargo compartment

Turkish Airlines has announced the measures it has taken to mitigate the impact of the ban decided by the US and Great Britain regarding the presence of electronic devices on board aircraft.
Thus, Turkish Airlines passengers who do not wish to leave their laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices larger than a smartphone in their checked luggage will be able to take them to the boarding area and hand them over to the company staff before boarding the plane.
The devices will be transported in a special compartment in the cargo hold and handed back to passengers by the company staff upon arrival at the destination, according to a statement from Turkish Airlines.
The Turkish company also informed that passengers will have access to an internet connection on their mobile phones on the plane, without specifying how.
On March 21, the US announced the ban, starting March 25, of laptops, tablets, and other electronic devices on board aircraft performing direct flights from 7 Arab countries – Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, and Morocco, as well as from Turkey, citing a risk of terrorist attacks.
Great Britain took a similar decision targeting the hand luggage of passengers on air flights coming from Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, and Saudi Arabia.
