TripAdvisor awarded the Certificate of Excellence in tourism to Făgăraș Fortress

TripAdvisor has awarded the Certificate of Excellence in tourism to Făgăraș Fortress, after it was considered the second most beautiful castle in the world last year, surpassed only by Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany, in a romantic-Renaissance style, according to a ranking by Hopper, a travel planning site, and presented by the Huffington Post.
Out of the 85 rooms of the Fortress, 40 can currently be visited, and starting this week, the Throne Room will also be open to visitors after being rehabilitated. In the rest of the rooms are the municipal library, the tourist site’s offices, and heritage storage areas that are not open to the public, stated the director of Făgăraș Fortress, Elena Bejenaru.
She stated that last year, the Fortress was visited by 55,000 tourists, 30% of whom were foreign tourists.
