The most sought-after destinations for autumn vacations remain the mountain areas (Prahova Valley, Transfăgărășan), as well as spa resorts and even cities such as Bucharest, Cluj, Iași, and Timișoara.
Additionally, holiday vouchers have also influenced hotel prices in 2019, with Travelminit reporting a price increase of 55% compared to 2017 and 9% compared to 2018 for one night for two people, while for a family, the increase is 44% compared to 2017 and 9% compared to 2018.
Among the most expensive destinations in Romania in 2019 is the capital, with a price of approximately 300 EUR/stay, followed by the Romanian seaside and the Danube Delta with an average of 287 EUR/stay, and spa resorts with a price of 240 EUR/stay.
While in 2018 the total value of bookings on Travelminit.ro was 6 million EUR, in 2019 bookings up to September already total over 12 million EUR, expected to reach 15 million EUR by the end of the year, stated Rigó Ferenc, CEO and founder of Travelminit.ro.
