Arrivals recorded in tourist reception structures between January 1 and October 31, 2022, totaled 9.674 million people, an 18.6% increase compared to the same period in 2021, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

Of the total number of arrivals, those of Romanian tourists in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions represented 86.3%, while arrivals of foreign tourists accounted for 13.7%.

Overnight stays recorded in tourist reception structures between January 1 and October 31, 2022, totaled 21.104 million, a 14.2% increase compared to those from the period of January 1 – October 31, 2021.

Of the total number of overnight stays in the first ten months of the current year, those of Romanian tourists in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions represented 86.3%, while overnight stays of foreign tourists accounted for 13.7%.

The average length of stay during the mentioned period was 2.2 days for both Romanian and foreign tourists. The net occupancy rate of tourist accommodation places between January 1 and October 31, 2022, was 30.7% across all tourist accommodation structures, an increase of 2.9 percentage points compared to the period of January 1 – October 31, 2021.

By county, the number of tourist arrivals in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions recorded higher values in: Constanța (1.215 million people), Bucharest (1.211 million people), and Brașov (991,500 people), while tourist overnight stays in tourist reception structures with accommodation functions also recorded higher values in Constanța (4.014 million), Bucharest (2.383 million), and Brașov (1.853 million).
