Tourism in Braila grows by almost 12% in June 2025

The Regional Direction of Statistics Brăila announces a significant evolution of tourism in June 2025, when 9,202 arrivals were recorded, 11.9% more than in the same month in 2024 and 8.8% above the level of May 2025.

Hotels attracted 86.1% of tourists and overnight stays totaled 25,969, up 9.5% from June 2024 and 23.6% from the previous month. Hotels’ share of total overnight stays was 89.7%.

Lodging occupancy climbed to 41.3%, up 4.3 pp over June 2024 and 5.8 pp over May 2025.

The evolution was different by segment:

  • hotels: +20.1% arrivals;
  • agro-tourist guesthouses: +300% (from 4 to 16 arrivals);
  • tourist hostels: +49.6%;
  • tourist villas: -18.4%;
  • apartments/rooms for rent: -32.6%.

The results confirm a positive dynamic of tourism in Braila, supported in particular by the performance of hotels and guesthouses, but with a noticeable decrease in the alternative accommodation segment.
