“Traian Vuia” International Airport Timisoara has announced the expansion of its network of European destinations starting from the second half of May 2026, with three new routes operated by Wizz Air. This development aims to strengthen the airport’s position as the main air hub in western Romania, responding to the growing demand for direct connections to key European markets.
The new flights will connect Timisoara with three major urban centers: Prague (Czech Republic), Berlin (Germany) and Birmingham (UK). The selection of these destinations covers multiple traffic segments, targeting both tourism – Prague being a popular Central European destination – and business, with the connection to Berlin. The route to Birmingham also serves an important Romanian community, facilitating ethnic traffic and visits to relatives.
The airport representatives confirmed that tickets for these new connections are already active in the reservation system and can be purchased through the official Wizz Air channels. The expansion of the route portfolio meets the mobility needs of passengers from the western region of the country, offering diversified options for travel within Europe.
