This year, Romanians will focus more on domestic destinations

Fears regarding the spread of Coronavirus will lead Romanians to focus on vacations in Romania for the spring and summer of this year.
Given the incidence of Coronavirus cases in Europe, specialists from the Travelminit.ro platform expect an increase between 25% and 35% in the number of bookings recorded for this spring, compared to the same period last year, as well as an increase in the price of stays in Romania.
“We are already recording a 10% increase in the number of phone calls to our call center and a 20% increase in the number of bookings compared to the same period last year. In the coming period, we expect the number of bookings to increase even further,” stated Timea Ambrus, Operations Manager Travelminit.ro.
The increase in demand for accommodation in Romania also comes against the backdrop of existing pressure on domestic tourism, largely induced by holiday vouchers.
