The Trump Organization enters Romania with real estate investments in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca

The Trump Organization, in partnership with local developer SDC Imobiliare, is officially entering the Romanian market by developing luxury real estate projects in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca, with an initial investment value estimated at over $500 million (approximately EUR 428.76 million). The initiative is part of the American group’s global expansion strategy and targets the residential, hotel and golf segments.

The Cluj-Napoca project, promoted at international events such as Cannes, is listed among Trump Hotels’ future openings, alongside locations such as Dubai, the Maldives and Australia. Plans for Cluj include a mixed-function tower of about 30 floors that will house a luxury hotel, premium apartments, shopping areas, restaurants and spa. A shopping center of about 100,000 square meters and golf course development are also being discussed. For the residential component of the project, located on Borzaș Hill with access from Moș Ion Roată Street, Cluj-Napoca City Hall has already issued the urban planning certificate.

In Bucharest, two major projects are planned: a luxury hotel under the name “Trump Tower Bucharest” and a residential development in the Băneasa area, near the SRI headquarters and opposite the French High School. The urban planning documents for the projects in the capital are being prepared. The partnership with SDC Imobiliare, a company led by Ștefan Berciu, was officially announced in July 2025. Representatives of the two companies, including Eric Trump, Executive Vice President of The Trump Organization, and Ștefan Berciu, met in November 2025 in Florida to discuss the details of the collaboration.

The official launch of the projects in Romania is scheduled for February 2026, when Eric Trump is expected to visit. The event has been postponed from an earlier date due to delays in finalizing technical and urban planning documentation. Avram Gal, president of PSD Câmpia Turzii, has publicly promoted the Cluj project, arguing that it can reposition the city as a top international destination for luxury tourism and real estate investments.
