Transilvania Investments Alliance has carried out a portfolio optimization operation by transferring its 91.87% stake in the company Tratament Balnear Buziaș (BALN) to Eagle Properties, an entity where it also holds control with 90.67% of the shares. The transaction was reported on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange on March 23, with a value of approximately EUR 2.14 million. This restructuring aligns with the group’s exit strategy for assets considered non-core.
The acquisition of the 145.66 million shares was financed from Eagle Properties’ (formerly Sembraz Sibiu) own resources. The company obtained liquidity at the beginning of last year by selling a 21,000 sqm plot of land located in Sibiu to the retailer Kaufland, in a EUR 4.5 million transaction. Almost half of this amount was used to take over the majority stake in Tratament Balnear Buziaș, a company that operates the Parc, Phoenix, and Timiș hotels in the Timiș county resort. The move comes after the hotel operator was included on a list of 30 entities targeted for divestment under the Exit Strategy approved by Transilvania Investments shareholders.
