Hotels on the southern Romanian coast are performing better than those in Mamaia during the current summer season, driven by increased demand for all-inclusive packages, businessman Nicolae Bucovală told the publication Ziarul Financiar.
According to data provided by the owner of the Steaua de Mare complex in Eforie Nord, a facility with a total capacity of 500 rooms, the average occupancy rate in July reached 98% in Eforie Nord and exceeded 90% at the Oltenia Hotel in Olimp. In contrast, the Tomis Hotel in Mamaia recorded a lower occupancy rate of 75%. The strategy based on the all-inclusive concept, adopted in 2014, mainly targets families opting for 5-7 night stays, with bookings already made for August. Last year, the entrepreneur’s portfolio also expanded to include the acquisition of the Zenith Hotel in Mamaia from the RC2 investment fund and Antares Management, owned by Dumitru Becșenescu.
