The Prime Minister’s Control Body has initiated, at the request of Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, an investigation at the national air transport company Tarom, the inquiry also targeting the circumstances in which two Airbus A310 aircraft were alienated last year.

Tarom has about 1,850 employees and currently operates on external and internal flights with a fleet of 25 aircraft.
Last year, the company signed a contract for the acquisition of 5 Boeing 737-MAX 8 aircraft, which have a list price of 586 million USD and will be delivered by 2023. In addition, the company wants to replace 13 aircraft in the fleet.
