The number of Romanians choosing Greece as a holiday destination will increase in 2016

The number of tourists, including Romanians, who will spend their holidays in Greece is set to increase in 2016, with travel agencies estimating a real boom for this destination.
Marius Pandel, CEO of Christian Tour, stated that for 2016 he expects a significant increase in the number of tourists spending their holidays in Greece; therefore, hoteliers have chosen to implement an average rate increase of only 3-5%, and only in rare cases 10%.
He estimates there will be normal increases, between 2% and 10%, depending on the hotel, and simultaneously advises tourists to purchase their Greek holidays for next year during the early booking period, as there will be a boom in Greece.
Travel agency representatives say that Greece has been growing as a holiday destination in recent years, and this will not change in 2016.
Having entered the Greek hotel market since 2013, the Christian Tour group will continue its investments in hotels in Greece. Pandel stated that discussions are underway for the acquisition of a new hotel, also on the island of Corfu, and hopes to sign the contract for the new 4 or 5-star hotel by the end of this year.
In turn, ANAT First Vice-President Alin Burcea estimates that prices for tourist packages to Greece will increase by 5%.
Last year, foreign visitor arrivals in Greece increased by 23%, reaching a record 22 million, a sign of the vitality of this sector on which the Greek state relies for economic recovery.
