Brothers Ioan and Viorel Micula have put 11 of the 12 hotels they own on the Romanian coast up for sale, which were purchased in the early 2000s.
The 11 hotels, totaling 2,700 rooms, represent practically the largest package ever put up for sale by a private tourism operator in Romania.
All are classified at 2 stars, with the exception of one, Prahova in the Neptun resort, which has 1 star.
Recently, the website www.hotelsforsale.ro announced that several seaside hotels have been listed for sale. The owner of the site, Alexandru Sorin Ionescu, founder and director of Fivestar Hospitality, declined to comment.
The hotels put up for sale are: National Hotel – 160 rooms and Unirea – 176 rooms in the Mamaia resort; Banat – 221 rooms, Slatina – 225 rooms, and Craiova – 163 rooms in Olimp; and Terra – 302 rooms, Caraiman – 242 rooms, Clabucet – 242 rooms, Prahova – 325 rooms, Romanta – 322 rooms, and Balea – 323 rooms in Neptun.
In addition to the 11 hotels with 2,700 rooms, the Micula brothers also want to sell the land of the Neptun service base, which spans 3.2 hectares.
