The first 5-star spa complex opens in October in Baile Felix

On October 10, 2015, the hotel company Turism Lotus Felix SA will inaugurate the only 5-star spa complex in Romania – the Lotus Therm Spa & Luxury Resort complex in Baile Felix.
The EUR 29.3 million investment was carried out by the company’s five shareholders – SIF Transilvania Brasov, SIF Oltenia Craiova, SC Turism Felix SA, SIF Muntenia Bucharest, and SIF Moldova Bacau.
The complex has a capacity of 180 rooms and 262 accommodation places, 79 single rooms, 37 double rooms, 3 rooms for people with disabilities, 39 apartments, 8 suites, and 6 special apartments – VIP, Honeymoon, Gold, Blue.
Florian Serac, the general manager of the Baile Felix company, specified that the leisure area is composed of two parts, with the investment amounting to approximately EUR 11 million. Two-thirds of the area is covered, and one-third is outdoors. The covered part features retractable roofs in the form of a semicircle that fold, so they can be closed during winter or autumn when it is colder. This will operate both in winter and summer, while the uncovered part will operate only during the summer season.
Lotus Therm Spa & Luxury Resort covers an area of approximately 47,000 sqm and includes a unique aquapark, one of a kind in Romania – Felixarium, which includes 14 indoor and outdoor pools with recirculation and thermal water, jacuzzis, caves, waterfalls, two slides, dining areas, Cascada Bar, Yammi Grill, Tiki Bar, a beach volleyball court, and the Gold Spa center with three types of saunas and an ice room.
Florian Serac estimates that the investment will be recovered in about 15 years.
“The idea of building this complex came to us after we realized that, in Romania, there is no modern center that offers tourists the possibility of treatment, leisure, and relaxation at the same time, and the lesson given by our Hungarian neighbors, where such bases attract thousands of tourists annually, including Romanians, was defining,” stated Florian Serac.
The spa treatment and SPA center, Nelumbo Med-Spa, is connected to the 5-star hotel. It offers a wide variety of services and therapies: hydrotherapy, mud wraps and baths, paraffin wraps, electrotherapy, hydro-kinesitherapy, kinesitherapy, massages, indoor thermal water pools, cosmetics, saunas, and an ice fountain for the brave who want to cool off.
Within the center is the only Tecar Therapy device in the North-West region of Romania, which will be used to perform non-invasive, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and regenerative therapy. This procedure halves recovery time, being a fundamental necessity for the recovery of professional athletes, a sector where it is used with very good results.
SC Turism Felix’s plans also include the introduction of all-inclusive services before 2020.
The miraculous effects of the thermal water in Baile Felix have been known since the time of the Roman Empire.
