The designation “Romanian wine” will apply only to wine obtained entirely from grapes from Romania

By “Romanian wine” it will be understood wine obtained from grapes originating exclusively from Romania, and producers will have to print the Romanian flag on the label of this wine, according to a bill adopted on March 27, 2019, by Parliament.
The project also provides that the National Day of Gastronomy and Romanian Wine will be celebrated on the first Sunday of October.
During the debate in the Chamber of Deputies, members of the agriculture committee thought it would be good to propose an amendment that should rather be found in laws such as those regulating the marketing of agri-food products or regarding the wine market.
The project received the final vote in this form from the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies and, to enter into force, it must still be promulgated by President Iohannis.
