The Lithuanian company Apex Alliance, which owns the Europa Royale and Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Bucharest, has brought into its shareholding Nerijus Numavicius, the richest man in Lithuania, and his brother Vladas, as well as Mindaugas Bagdonavicius, one of the founders of the Vilniaus prekyba holding.
The company is building, in the north of the Capital, the first hotel to be affiliated with Courtyard by Marriott in Romania.
The first hotel in Romania affiliated with Courtyard by Marriott will be classified at 4 stars and will have 260 rooms and several conference rooms, and the total investment is estimated, according to market sources, somewhere at 18-20 million EUR.
In addition to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel, Apex Alliance is also building a 120-room hotel in Bucharest affiliated with Moxy Hotels, a chain also owned by Marriott.
Both hotels will be inaugurated in 2019.
