Tarom to announce strategic consultant by the end of November

By the end of November, the strategic consultant for the restructuring of the airline TAROM will be announced. Currently, the six offers are being analyzed by the company’s Board of Directors, stated the Minister of Transport, Sorin Bușe.
According to him, in the first half of next year, the business model that the company will adopt will be outlined.
Regarding the serious competition that low-cost companies pose to the national air carrier in terms of the number of passengers transported, the head of Transport stated that a company like Blue Air, which was designed to be very agile, cannot be compared with a state-owned company.
Asked if there are intentions for the state to sell a part of TAROM, the minister stated that the desire is not to sell, but he does not exclude the option of selling a minority stake if an advantageous partnership exists.
Sorin Bușe participated on Saturday in the Open Doors Day, an event organized by Metrorex at the Central Dispatch, to mark 37 years since the commissioning of the metro.
The Romanian National Air Transport Company TAROM was established in 1954 and operates under the authority of the Ministry of Transport. Since June 2010, it has been a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, since 1993 a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and since 2000 is a member of the Association of European Airlines.
