Tarom Resumes Flights Starting May 2

National airline Tarom will resume flights starting May 2. The first destination available for travel is Amsterdam, and in the following days, there will also be flights to Athens, Paris, Frankfurt, and Munich.
Next month, the European Commission will present a set of rules for the safe resumption of air travel once the lockdown measures adopted to combat the spread of the coronavirus end, including social distancing at airports and on planes, while some American airlines are taking their own protective measures.
On April 23, the Government approved, through a memorandum, the granting of aid to the airlines Tarom and Blue Air to compensate for the effects of the pandemic. The actual allocation of the aid is to be carried out later, through a decision, during which time discussions with European Commission officials in this regard are also expected to be concluded.
