The Prefect’s Institution – Mures County announced that the Sovata Balenoclimatic Resort remains a safe and open destination for tourists and that the nearby tourist areas are not affected by the state of alert instituted in the localities downstream of the Târnava Mica river, due to high salinity after the flooding of the Praid mine.
“Local authorities and tourism operators are sending a clear message: Sovata resort and nearby tourist areas are NOT affected and are waiting for their visitors with open arms. All tourist activities – including access to Lake Ursu, spa treatments, hiking trails, accommodation services and local gastronomy – are operating under normal conditions. In the context of the alert situation instituted in some localities located further down the Târnava Mica river, it is important to emphasize that Sovata is NOT affected by water quality problems”, transmitted the Prefect’s Institution – Mures County.
Mures Prefecture emphasizes that Sovata resort is safe, accessible and ready to offer tourists a pleasant and relaxing experience in complete safety.
“Sovata and its surroundings are safe to visit – the authorities are constantly monitoring the situation and working with local operators to maintain a stable tourist climate,” the statement added.
