Sheraton Bucharest hotel expansion plans have been postponed by the owner of Sheraton, amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grand Plaza Hotel, the hotel administrator, wants to add about 100 rooms to the 270 already existing, but the pandemic caused the postponement of the hotel expansion scheduled since 2018.

In present, the hotel has 270 rooms and suites and will reach, upon completion of the expansion works, 370 rooms and suites.

The expansion will take place on two plots of land owned by Grand Plaza Hotel, 5,623 sqm on Calea Dorobantilor and 889 sqm on Magheru Boulevard, will have 8 floors and a height of 35 m.

The investment is estimated at about EUR 5 million, and the investment per room is between EUR 30,000-50,000/room.
