Salina Turda Invests €1M in Modernizing and Rehabilitating Potaissa Hotel

On May 28, Salina Turda inaugurated its own accommodation unit. The salt mine invested approximately 1 million RON, funds accessed either through credit or the mine’s own sources, into the rehabilitation and modernization of the Potaissa Hotel.
Simona Baciu, the director of Salina Turda, stated that Salina Turda now has its own hotel, which also benefits from a SPA center, and the medical facility within the SPA center will be opened soon.
Future investments aim specifically at expanding the visitable circuit of the salt mine and putting the Iosif Mine, currently known as the „Room of Echoes,” into use.
„The 2016 investment budget includes the completion of the hotel, its equipment, and the equipment for the hotel’s treatment facility, which I hope we will finish this year; therefore, we can speak of total investments of 4 million RON,” specified Simona Baciu.
Last year, Salina Turda was visited by nearly 550,000 tourists, the highest number recorded since its rehabilitation in 2010. About 30% of the tourists come from abroad, with the most foreign tourists coming from Hungary, Israel, England, the USA, Spain, China, Japan, Poland, Germany, and Mexico.
