Ryanair Holdings aims to become the world’s largest low-cost airline by 2024, with a fleet of over 500 aircraft and 160 million passengers.
Currently, Ryanair operates in 31 countries, has a fleet of over 300 aircraft, and has orders for another 300 aircraft.
In October this year, Ryanair will launch a new website that will also be available in Romanian and will introduce a “fare lock” option, which gives passengers the possibility to lock a fare for 24 hours for 5 EUR to allow them time to decide.
Additionally, the airline will launch new, more business-oriented and classic uniforms. Starting next year, aircraft interiors will also change along with the new aircraft, as will the onboard menus.
For Bucharest, in summer 2016, traffic will increase by 90% through the launch of 8 new routes. There will be 5 flights per week to Bologna, one daily to Brussels Charleroi, 4 per week to Dublin, two daily to London, one daily to Madrid and Milan Bergamo, 4 per week to Milan Malpensa, and two daily to Rome Ciampino. In total, there will be 23,500 seats per week and 62 weekly flights.
The new routes will transport 1.1 million passengers per year and will support around 800 jobs in commercial activities and services connected to Bucharest Henri Coanda Airport.
The company estimates a net profit of 1.175 billion EUR – 1.225 billion EUR for the current fiscal year ending in March 2016.
