Ryanair and Wizz Air see massive passenger drops in April 2020

Low-cost airline Ryanair announced that in April this year it transported 40,000 passengers, compared to 13.5 million in April last year.

Ryanair warned that it expects passenger numbers to remain at a low level in May and June, as a result of the travel restrictions in force.

At the same time, low-cost airline Wizz Air announced that it transported 78,389 passengers in April, down from 3.3 million in April last year. Wizz Air became one of the first airlines to resume flights on routes from London and Vienna on May 1.

Additionally, Wizz Air reported that its plans regarding the launch of a new airline with flights between Abu Dhabi and Eastern Europe are progressing in line with the initial schedule, so flights will begin this year.
