Romania’s Most Modern Golf Course to Open in 2018

Soon, just a few kilometers away from Alba Iulia, the most modern golf course in Romania will be inaugurated. “Theodora Golf Club”, the investment of businessman Ioan Popa, will certainly be a pole of attraction both for enthusiasts of this select sport and for tourists who wish to spend their days in Alba, in a place perfect for exercise and relaxation.
The golf course and the tourist complex within it will span an area of approximately 67 hectares. The course will have 18 holes, featuring the longest distance in the world to a hole – PAR 6, measuring 735 m.
Ioan Popa specified that the investment in the construction of the golf course amounted to approximately 15 million EUR.
“Theodora Golf Club” will feature a villa complex with 82 double rooms classified at 4 stars plus, a conference room, an outdoor swimming pool, a restaurant with 200 indoor seats and 110 on the terrace, a bar, parking lots, and other facilities.
Accommodation and restaurant services will be available starting this autumn, and the golf course will be inaugurated in the spring of next year.
Ioan Popa mentioned that he has also held discussions with Mayor Mircea Hava to include the golf complex in the city’s tourist circuit and that he would like to develop a golf center in Transylvania.
To develop this sporting side in Alba County, the club will also have a golf school for children and for those who want to learn.
