Romanians consider domestic holiday destinations to be safe and aim to enjoy more trips in 2016 to regions such as Transylvania, Bucovina, or the Danube Delta, according to a study conducted by the booking portal HotelGuru.ro.
60% of respondents stated they will spend their holiday in Romania, and the most popular holiday destinations of 2016 are the villages in Bucovina and Transylvania, where 32% of respondents said they would spend their holiday, the Black Sea coast – opted for by 29%, the Danube Delta – preferred by 22% of respondents, as well as the Prahova Valley, towards which 10% of those surveyed directed their attention.
Although the majority of the 2,300 respondents stated they did not change their holiday destination following the terrorist attacks, nearly 60% of them stated that from now on they will also take into account the security of the holiday destination. At the same time, 9 out of 10 Romanians consider Romania to be a safe country to spend their holiday.
In the trust rankings, destinations such as Spain, Italy, and Greece were also listed, followed by countries like Switzerland, Portugal, and Austria.
