Romanians Can Still Travel to the UK with Their ID Cards

According to the J’Info Tours travel agency, Romanians can travel to the United Kingdom until December 31, 2020, using only their identity card, just as before. There will be a transition period throughout this year during which it will be determined what changes will occur regarding visas, passports, flights, and medical insurance, depending on the negotiations between the Kingdom and the European Union, stated Carmen Pavel, president of J’Info Tours.
As of February 1, 2020, the United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union. The UK’s withdrawal agreement from the EU provides for a transition period until the end of the year. In this period, the United Kingdom and the European Union will negotiate the details of the so-called trade transition, which will apply starting January 1, 2021.
