The Government of Thailand has decided that, starting January 1, 2019, tourists from 21 countries, including Romania, will be exempt from paying for visas upon arrival in this country. Thus, the payment of the fee of approximately 60 USD will be canceled for citizens of 21 countries who will arrive in Thailand for a period of 15 days.
Among the countries that will be exempted from paying the fee are Romania, Bulgaria, China, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, India, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia.
According to Immigration Agency data, the number of tourists who requested a visa for Thailand has continued to decrease since January 2016 and it is expected that this initiative will increase the influx of tourists by 30%.
