Romania and the Republic of Moldova have signed a cooperation agreement in the field of tourism

The Minister of Tourism, Bogdan Trif, signed, together with the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova, Chiril Gaburici, the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on cooperation in the field of tourism.
The new agreement provides for the intensification of cooperation in key areas for the sustainable development of tourism in the two states.
Romania and Moldova have committed to encouraging mutual exchanges of data and information regarding legislation and regulations in the field of tourism, statistical data, as well as the exchange of experience in the tourism field, and the organization and development of tourism activities.
At the same time, the Agreement also provides for the intensification of cooperation regarding investment projects of common interest in the field of tourism, through the development of projects that can benefit from the financial support of the European Union, as well as through a sustained exchange of information regarding investments and facilities in the field.
In terms of promotion, the two countries agreed on the development of promotional and tourist information materials, the organization of documentation visits for journalists and experts in the field, as well as participation in tourism events and fairs.
In this sense, Romania has already developed a common cultural route with the Republic of Moldova, “The Route of Voivode Stephen the Great”. In Romania, the route includes the Suceava fortress, Putna, the Palace of Culture in Iasi, the Neamt Fortress, foundations of the voivode in Vaslui, and other places steeped in the history of Stephen.
The “Wine Road” is also a joint project aimed at developing tourism in the two countries. The new route includes several wineries from Romania and the Republic of Moldova and aims to promote the two countries through a unified tourism product that attracts foreign tourists, especially from the Asian market.
