Purcari Wineries has signed the official documents for the acquisition of the producer SERVE Ceptura from the Dealu Mare region, marking the takeover of the first private winery established in Romania after 1989. The transaction, which is to be finalized after obtaining the approval of the Commission for the Examination of Foreign Direct Investment (CEISD), aims to consolidate the group’s presence in the premium wine market and expand production capacities in one of the country’s most renowned wine-growing areas.
Through this operation, the Purcari Group expands its vineyard area by 60 hectares and adds to its portfolio a unit with an annual production capacity of approximately 500 thousand bottles. SERVE Ceptura, founded in 1994 by Count Guy Tyrel de Poix and Mihaela Tyrel de Poix, operates full-cycle winemaking facilities and has a storage capacity of approximately 1 million liters. The company has an active export presence, particularly in the Canadian market, through the Chevalier de Dyonis brand.
Victor Bostan, founder and CEO of Purcari Wineries, emphasized that the acquisition aims to integrate and consolidate the SERVE brands, while leveraging the group’s international network to increase the visibility of Romanian wine globally. Mihaela de Poix, co-founder of the winery, stated that the decision to sell to a group with global resources ensures the continuity and development of the legacy started in 1993.
Purcari Wineries, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange since 2018 under the symbol WINE, currently manages approximately 2,000 hectares of vineyards and seven production platforms in Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and Bulgaria. The group is majority-owned by Maspex Romania (72.08%), part of the Polish Maspex group, while founder Victor Bostan retains a stake of approximately 15% through the company Amboselt Universal.
