According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, starting this year, holiday vouchers will also be granted to private sector employees. Until now, these vouchers were only granted to public sector employees. The value of these holiday vouchers amounts to at least 6 guaranteed gross salaries per country and could reach approximately 14,000 RON.
In the case of private sector employees, the vouchers will be granted from the budgets of the respective companies, unlike the case of public sector employees, who are granted the amounts from the state budget.
According to Minister Constantin-Daniel Cadariu, current legislation stipulates that these holiday vouchers must be issued only by entities accredited by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Tourism, in accordance with GEO no. 8/2009, with subsequent amendments and completions.
The statement also specifies that all vouchers issued between 2022 and 2026 will be exclusively on electronic support.
„Among the advantages for employers who grant holiday vouchers, we mention 100% tax deductibility within the limit of 13,800 RON/employee/fiscal year and exemption from the work insurance contribution, amounting to 2.25% of the employee’s gross salary. They are also exempt from the payment of social contributions owed by the employee.
Due to the positive economic and social impact, I encourage companies to continue offering them, and in the future, I aim to identify methods through which the attractiveness of granting them can increase, without affecting, however, the state budget,” stated Minister Constantin-Daniel Cadariu.
