According to Paravion.ro, following the attacks in France, tourist bookings from Romania for Paris have dropped to almost zero in recent days, even though French tour operators have reduced holiday prices by an average of 25%.
“The majority of those who have booked flights or hotels in the French capital these days are traveling for business. Additionally, immediately after the November 13 attacks, there were flight cancellations to Paris or rerouting to other destinations, for departures in both November and December,” according to the Paravion.ro press release.
To encourage tourists to return to the French capital, hoteliers have reduced rates by 50% during this period, and airlines are accepting changes to dates or names, regardless of how restrictive the ticket issuance conditions were.
“Paravion.ro believes that we can best help Paris at this moment by promoting it as a holiday destination. The French need to return to a normal life, and a normal life means a city full of tourists. Therefore, we will continue to promote Paris as a holiday destination,” said Remus Visan, managing director of Paravion.ro.
