Paralela 45: Over 243,000 Romanian Tourists Visited Antalya This Year

Over 243,000 Romanian tourists visited Antalya for their holidays this year, nearly double compared to 2015, when 130,000 Romanians vacationed there, and up from 190,000 in 2018, stated Alin Burcea, owner of the tour operator Paralela 45. Romanians rank 7th in terms of tourist numbers; Alin Burcea estimates that there is little room for further growth in 2020 and hopes for consolidation.
Out of the total, Paralela 45 accounted for 9% of the tourists sent to Antalya. Over 25,000 Romanian tourists traveled to Antalya with Paralela 45, an increase of approximately 28% compared to 2018 in terms of tourist numbers.
The company operates charters to Antalya with departures from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Iași, Târgu Mureș, Oradea, Arad, Baia Mare, Bacău, Suceava, and Constanța.
This year, however, Turkish hoteliers have increased rates, but Turkish resorts are now facing new competition from Egypt and Tunisia.
During the early booking period, tourists have already reserved 5-star hotels in Antalya with numerous facilities for children (pools, playgrounds and clubs, slides, special menus, mini-disco, creative workshops, special cribs), as well as for adults (massage and sauna services).
Antalya will remain the star of the 2020 season, alongside new destinations like Egypt and Tunisia, with departures from most airports in Romania.
