The number of overnight stays by Romanian tourists in Germany increased last year by 8.2%, up to 1.132 million, according to data published by the German Federal Statistical Office.
Romania has been in a very strong growth trend for several years, according to Cristian Sallai, director of the Regional Office for Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina of the German National Tourist Board.
Most nights spent by Romanians were recorded in Bavaria – 28.2%, followed by the state of Baden-Württemberg – 16.4% and North Rhine-Westphalia with 13%.
The majority of Romanians, specifically 38%, traveled to Germany for vacation, followed by business trips with 33% and other types of travel – 29%.
