Over 74 million RON investment for an Olympic ski slope and gondola in Borșa

The association formed by Yanis Nord SRL (Maramureș county) and Technoalpin Spa (Italy) submitted the only bid for the construction of a gondola and an Olympic ski slope in the town of Borșa, plus a multi-story parking lot, a project estimated at 74.33 million RON, excluding VAT, for a duration of 20 months.
“The project aims to increase the tourism importance of the Borșa resort by developing the Olympic ski slope, specifically by equipping it with snowmaking and lighting systems for night skiing, as well as completing the construction-assembly works for the gondola lift and putting it into operation,” according to the tender specifications.
In May of this year, the Borșa City Hall announced that it received over 20 million EUR in funding from the Ministry of Tourism for the construction of a gondola and an Olympic ski slope, which will be the first of its kind in Romania.
The project refers to an 8-seat gondola and an Olympic-sized ski slope with a length of 2,850 m, a transport capacity of 1,800 people per hour, equipped with artificial snow systems and night lighting for both training and organizing night competitions.
